Facts On Polar Bears

Polar bears live in the frozen regions of the Artic, where they hunt and raise their young. Their white fur makes them almost invisble in the snow. They feed mainly on Seals, but also eat Fish,,Geese, and Ducks. They are the only northern bears that do not hibernatein the winter.
Polar bears are very good swimmers-they have to be good swimmers to be able to move across the moving packs of ice.there large furry feet make good paddles for swimming.
Polar bears often find a breathing hole that a seal had made and would wait, at it until the seal comes up for a breath and then attacks it.
wich is realy sad=(

katie and her family escaped a sinking cruise ship.

this a true story but i dont know this girl i just got it from a magazine.!.!.
my dad, sister sarah, and i had just bordeda cruise ship for a few days of fun.
we were planning to go ashore at an island in greace when we felt a vibration and heard a awfull grinding sound. when my dad asked a crew member what was happening, he told us to put on life jackets and go to our emergency station.
we dashed to our room to get our life jackets and headed for our station. people were running everywere. the floor was tilting so badly that we could barley walk. we wound our way through a crush of people. it was a little scary, and some people were crying, but most of us didnt think is was to big a deal. we waited for a while before we heard thatw women and kids would be evacuating first. dad gave sarah and i some money, hugged us, and told us to stay together. sarah and i climbed down a flimsy ladder to a small boat that had come out to rescue passengers.we squeezed together to make room for more people, and the little boat took us to shore. sarah and i waited for dad, and we finaly spotted him on the third deck of a huge ferry. nwe were relieved to be back together! we spent the night on another cruise ship, and we woke up the next day, we found out that our ship had sunk. we new that we had been lucky. it took us 2 days to get back home to california, but im so thankful that we made it. it could have been a lot worse.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=)

Mr.Ko

On friday afternoon 10/10/08 a scientist came to my classroom that scientist named was Mr.Ko, he talked to us about how kids and people can help our world. also how to prevent polar bears from becoming extinct. all of the ice is melting and the polar bears can swim but not for to long, because then they get tired out and cant swim anymore, so they dround. here are some ways you can prevent polar bears from becoming extinct.
number 1: turn off the water when u are brushing ur teeth.number 2:do not litter were ever u are, and if u see trash on the ground pick it up and picking up that one piece of trash is saving a polar bears life.
